ALMOST FALL !! Hey everyone, can you believe it, Fall is soon to be upon us. Where did the summer go? Seems like every year, the summer fades a little faster. I like the warm weather, so for me, Fall is not as anxiously awaited as it is by some of you. I will admit, it does provide some of the best time for enjoying our hobby. This Fall looks to be a great time for our club. With a super Fall Hunt coming on September 22 and the FMDAC weekend being held in our back yard, there is a lot to look forward to.
All the information needed on the FMDAC National hunt is on our website along with many other links to FMDAC newsletters and happenings. With us being the host club, looks like a great opportunity for our club to show what a great membership we have. With most hands raised at the August meeting showing members that are participating, the turn out should be impressive and a good showcase of our membership. It really is a golden opportunity to experience this event which is often held too far away for many of us to travel. If you are undecided, I urge you to check it out, even if you do not wish to participate in the hunts. The people you will meet and the seminars as well as getting to see the latest in our hobby’s technology, is well worth your time. I would ask that when you attend, where your pins or hats to show you are a Butler Co. Treasure Hunter Club member. We may try to make our name tags available to you also. The Fall Hunt is shaping up to be another great one with some very interesting hunts. The location on Rte. 66, six miles north of Leechburg is a great location and about as centrally located as we can get for all of our members.
Thanks to Kathy Hilliard for allowing us to use her property once again. Purples Bar across from the property always allows us to use their side lot for some parking and open at noon. They do have refreshments and hot sandwiches. It is hoped we can give them some business as they have always been helpful to us. Donations will be much appreciated to make this hunt as good as possible. Donation letters have been sent via e Mail to all members that are on the internet. Please take the time to print a few and give them to your favorite restaurant, fast food stop or other businesses. Most are willing to give a few coupons. Just keep a record of those that do so we can list them in out Thank You announcement. If you are not on the internet, contact me and I will see you get some donation letters. The August meeting was really great and well attended with several new members joining, we welcome them. The Show & Tell was once again super, Congratulations to all the winners and Thanks to all for showing your finds. Hope to see everyone at the September meeting, until then, good health, and good luck to all. May your next find be your best, EVER!

Just a little bored today
Today it is Sunday August the 19th, 2007 and we received an acknowledgement from our newest member that he received the Butler newsletter via email. It is appreciated when someone lets us know they get their emails. It is raining and a breezy and cold 59 degrees outside so I turned down a request to go water detecting today. I have a detecting trip coming up and do not wish to get any aches and pains to take with me.
Instead I decided to go through all my junk finds that I toss onto a shelf. What a nice day it turned out to be. I found two 14K gold earrings and a small 925 silver ring with a gemstone in amongst all that junk. I also packaged up my water detector for shipping to the Manufacture for repair. It seems that it has a short somewhere in the electrical system. I am thankful for back up water machines. It has been a good day after all.
